Sunday recruiting tidbits

Junior defensive end McTelvin Agim of Hope.

Hope junior defensive end McTelvin Agim believes Arkansas is a couple more playmakers away from being an SEC title contender. He was one of about 40 recruits that attended the Arkansas-Georgia game.

He plans to visit Auburn next weekend and Oklahoma Nov. 8 and possibly Arkansas or Alabama for Nov. 15. He's looking at a trip to Baylor Nov. 22. He may contact Miss. St. to see if he can visit them for the Arkansas game Nov. 1.

He said he feels very comfortable with the Arkansas staff. He enjoyed talking to Director of Recruiting E.K. Franks. Franks had him laughing he said. He called Franks a "trip".

At this time, Arkansas will not host any official visitors for the UAB game on Saturday. The 11 am kickoff pretty much eliminated the chances to get guys on campus.

D-line commit Hjalte Froholdt said he'll probably visit for the LSU game.

Offensive lineman Jalen Merrick of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. said the Hogs started off flat against Georgia but fight until the end. He said Arkansas has a promising future ahead.

Hog defensive end commit Daytrieon Dean of Ft. Smith Northside had 9 tackles, 4 forced fumbles and a recovered fumble on Friday.

Arkansas offensive line target Jalin Barnett of Lawton, Okla. had the most dominant game his coach has ever seen He pancaked the defensive lineman and then went in to do the same to the linebacker. He then blocked the safety and almost pancaked him. For the game, he graded 95% and had 18 pancake blocks.

Nashville receiver La'Michael Pettway said he was tempted to commit to the Hogs during his visit for the Georgia game, but wants to hold off so he can be around Arkansas and Ole Miss more. He was looking to visit Ole Miss on Saturday, but had somethings come up and decided to visit the Hogs.

He plans to officially visit Ole Miss but hasn't set a date.
