Adams leaves Razorbacks

— Sophomore guard McKenzie Adams has quit the Arkansas women’s basketball team, a university official confirmed Tuesday night.

Adams started all 30 games for the Razorbacks last season and averaged 8.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 24.8 minutes. News of Adams’ leaving the team wasn’t confirmed Tuesday until after Razorbacks Coach Jimmy Dykes spoke at SEC media days.

Adams is the daughter of Gary "Peanut" Adams, a former Arkansas quarterback in the 1980s.

The loss of Adams reduces the roster to nine scholarship players. Sophomore guard Bria Pitts left the team earlier this year after averaging 3.2 points in 21 games as a freshman.
