Portis named to preseason all-SEC team

— Arkansas was predicted to finish third Wednesday by league media memebers at SEC Media Days in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Razorbacks were projected to finish behind Kentucky and Florida in the SEC. Kentucky, last season's national runner-up, was the unanimous pick to win the conference.

Arkansas sophomore Bobby Portis was one of five players selected to the preseason all-SEC team. Portis averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as a freshman.

Kentucky sophomore Aaron Harrison was voted on as the preseason SEC player of the year. Other players voted to the preseason all-SEC team were LSU forward Jordan Mickey, Florida guard Michael Frazier II and Ole Miss guard Jarvis Summers.

The Razorbacks open their season Nov. 16 with a home game against Alabama State.
