Greenlaw commits to Hogs on Recruiting Thursday

FILE PHOTO MICHAEL WOODS Fayetteville senior Dre Greenlaw had a knack for big plays last season with the Bulldogs, scoring touchdowns on defense, kick returns and punt returns. Greenlaw is back to lead the secondary this season and will also play more offense for the Purple’Dogs as well.

Fayetteville safety-linebacker Dre "Big Play Dre" Greenlaw became Arkansas' 15th commitment for the 2015 class when he announced his pledge on last night's Recruiting Thursday radio show.

Greenlaw, 6-1, 216 pounds, 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash, chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from Georgia, Washington State, Arkansas State, Memphis and Southern Miss.

He was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's All-Arkansas Preps Super Sophomore team as a cornerback and was a member of the preseason All-Arkansas Preps team this season after recording 93 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions and 1 pass breakup as a junior.

Offensive lineman Pat Allen, 6-5, 287 pounds, 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash, was up next and he recapped his official visit for the Alabama game. He has scholarship offers from more than 20 schools, including Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida State, Rutgers and Tennessee. He is a four-star prospect and is rated the No. 238 recruit in the nation by ESPN.

Highly regarded junior defensive-offensive lineman Austin Capps, 6-3 1/2, 307, 5.1 of Star City gave an update on his recruiting and recalled getting his offer from Arkansas fresh out of the ninth grade. He also has offers from Louisville and Mississippi State.

Fayetteville Coach Daryl Patton closed out the show discussing Dre "Big Play Dre" Greenlaw's skill set on the football and what the Razorbacks were getting on and off the field. He also talked about Arkansas tight end commit C.J. O'Grady and the former Bulldogs on the Razorback roster. To listen, click on to the Oct. 24 link HERE
