Froholdt preparing for Arkansas, plans weekend visit
When Arkansas defensive line commitment Hjatle Froholdt reports to Fayetteville next summer, he’ll be well prepared for college life.
Froholdt, 6-5, 290 pounds is attending highly acclaimed IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for his senior season. He arrived in the United States from Denmark earlier in the summer.
He said life is much the same he’ll face at Arkansas.
“Pretty much with everything,” said Froholdt, who will unofficially visit Arkansas this weekend. “Learning to manage time, the high intensity in football and lifting, a smaller version of college. IMG is pretty much Arkansas on a smaller scale. They're very professional about everything here.”
IMG plays at Prestonwood Christian in Plano Friday night. His brother, Lars will be traveling from Denmark and arrive in Dallas Thursday night.
“After my game in Texas, me and my brother will rent a car and drive to Fayetteville,” Froholdt said.
Since his commitment in December, the Hogs have added defensive coordinator Robb Smith and defensive line coach Rory Segrest.
“Meeting my new coaches,” said Froholdt of what he’s looking forward to during the trip.
ESPN rates Froholdt the No. 12 defensive tackle and No. 99 overall prospect in the nation. During an August practice, he injured his left hand and has had to wear a cast.
“It was during inside run,” said Froholdt, who will take his official visit to Fayetteville at a later date. “We were in a big pile, bundle trying to tackle the running back. And when the play was over my hand just cramped up and hurt bad.”
Lars plans to visit Arkansas Tech and Abilene Christian while in the states and hopes to enroll into a school in January.
“Yeah, I'll try to visit two with him, since I have to get back to school,” Froholdt said.
