Froholdt visit update

Hjalte (right) and his brother, Lars had a great visit to Arkansas.

Arkansas defensive line commitment Hjlate Froholdt left Fayetteville Monday morning after a two day visit.

Froholdt, 6-5, 290 pounds of Bradenton, (Fla.) IMG Academy accomplished what he wanted during the trip and called the visit great.

He wanted to meet defensive coordinator Robb Smith and defensive line coach Rory Segrest after speaking to them over the phone and came away very impressed and comfortable with the coaches.

He was able to sit in the defensive line meeting on Sunday and had lunch with Smith and Segrest. He likes that Segrest has NFL experience and is very detailed in his teaching.

Froholdt said he had the same home feeling he felt after his previous trips to Fayetteville. His relationship with Coach Bret Bielema is a big reason for his decision to be a Hog. His brother, Lar visited Alabama, Michigan and Florida State last year with Hjalte and said he had the same feeling at Arkansas and didn't feel that way at the other schools.

The Hog pledge was able mingle with some of the commitments like quarterback Ty Storey of Charleston, defensive end Daytrieon Dean of Fort Smith Northside, tight end C.J. O'Grady of Fayetteville and offensive lineman Zach Rogers of Carrollton, (Texas) Hebron.

The work that strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert has done with the freshmen caught Froholdt's attention. He noticed how defensive lineman Bijhon Jackson went from 347 pounds to about 310 by working with Herbert.

Froholdt will enroll in January and participate in spring practice and is excited to see what Herbert can do for him the eight months leading up to the first game.

Lars visited Abilene Christian Friday and he and Hjlate visited Arkansas Tech today. He's hoping to enroll at one of the schools in January.

As of now, it appears Froholdt will take his official visit for the UAB game Oct. 25. His parents might be able to join him.
