Jerry Franklin was added to Kansas City's 53-man roster Tuesday, after the Chiefs suffered a pair of season-ending injuries on defense.

The former Arkansas linebacker will replace former Pro Bowler Derrick Johnson, who was placed on injured reserve after rupturing his Achilles' tendon in the Chiefs' 26-10 loss to Tennessee Sunday, on the roster.

Defensive end Mike DeVito will also miss the rest of the season with the same injury.

Franklin spent fall camp in Chicago, but was waived when the Bears reduced their roster to 53 players. The Chiefs signed him to their practice squad Sept. 1.

The Chiefs are Franklin's fifth NFL organization to be a part of. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos before spending time on the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears in 2012.

The Bears, his fourth NFL team, promoted him to the 53-man roster last season after D.J. Williams (the linebacker, not the former Razorback) ruptured his pectoral tendon and was placed on injured reserve.

He registered six tackles in his short period on the Bears' active roster.

Franklin joins former Arkansas running back Knile Davis on the Chiefs' 53-man roster, making Kansas City the only NFL team with two former Razorbacks on its roster.

Here is a look at how the other 13 players on active rosters played in Week 1.

Alvin Bailey - Seattle Seahawks

Bailey did not start in the Seahawks' 36-16 win over the Green Bay Packers, but he did play, helping pave the way for a Seattle offense that racked up 398 yards.

Knile Davis - Kansas City Chiefs

In the Chiefs' 26-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Davis had one carry and one reception, which went for three yards each. He also returned two kickoffs for 57 yards, giving him 63 all-purpose yards.

Nate Garner - Miami Dolphins

Garner did not start in the Dolphins' 33-20 upset win over the New England Patriots, but he did play. Running back Knowshon Moreno rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown in the win.

Brett Goode - Green Bay Packers

As the Packers' long snapper, Goode contributed to kicker Mason Crosby's one PAT and one field goal, as well as punter Tim Masthay's four punts.

Chris Gragg - Buffalo Bills

Gragg played, but did not register any stats in the Bills' 23-20 upset win over the Chicago Bears.

Peyton Hillis - New York Giants

The Giants used two running backs in their 35-14 loss to the Detroit Lions Monday night, but Hillis was not one of them. Rashad Jennings had 46 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries, while rookie Andre Williams had only nine yards on five carries.

Ryan Mallett - Houston Texans

Mallett did not play in the Texans' 17-6 win over the Washington Redskins, but he is expected to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting job during the season. Fitzpatrick was 14-of-22 for 206 yards and one touchdowns against the Redskins.

Darren McFadden - Oakland Raiders

Despite only getting four carries in the Raiders' 19-14 loss to the New York Jets, McFadden was able to gain 15 rushing yards (3.8 yards/carry). He also had one reception for six yards. Starting running back Maurice Jones-Drew managed just 11 yards on nine carries (1.2 yards/carry).

Jason Peters - Philadelphia Eagles

As the Eagles' starting left tackle, Peters paved the way for an offense that scored 34 unanswered points to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-17. Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles threw for 322 yards, while running backs LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles combined for 145 yards on 32 carries (4.5 yards/carry).

Chris Smith - Jacksonville Jaguars

Smith was inactive during the Jaguars' 34-17 loss to the Eagles. He was ruled out only 90 minutes before kickoff.

Travis Swanson - Detroit Lions

Swanson did not see an offensive snap during the Lions' 35-14 win over the Giants, but he did play nine special teams snaps. Detroit hopes to keep him on special teams this season so he can learn under 13-year veteran Dominic Raiola.

George Wilson - Tennessee Titans

Wilson played, but did not register any stats in the Titans' 26-10 win over the Chiefs.

Jarius Wright - Minnesota Vikings

In the Vikings' 34-6 win over the St. Louis Rams, Wright caught two passes for 25 yards.
