Sunday visit updates

Jalin Barnett

— Offensive lineman Jalin Barnett's grandmother, Charlotte Burse was thoroughly impressed with Arkansas.

Barnett of Lawton, Okla., is considered one of the top prospects in the nation. Burse accompanied Barnett on his official visit that started Friday and ended around midday on Sunday.

She said the coaching staff, the fans and the people of Arkansas create a great family atmosphere. She praised Coach Bret Bielema and offensive line coach Sam Pittman for their concern for Barnett.

Barnett and Lawton offensive coordinator Ryan Breeze visited Fayetteville in June. Burse said Barnett smiled when talking about the first trip.

She was upset that Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Oregon called Barnett during his visit. She felt the schools were being disrespectful.

Barnett and Burse went to Bielema's house on Friday and were able to meet Jen Bielema. They ate lunch at Pittman's house today.

She said she'll support Barnett's decision regardless where he decides to go. Distance will not be an issue. Barnett will officially visit Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Oregon. A fifth visit is a possibility.

As reported earlier in the week, three different sources feel good about the Hogs' chances of getting Barnett. Based off the conversation with Burse, the Hogs sound like they're definitely in the running to land Barnett.

A source said the visit went as good as possible. Very upbeat about the visit.

Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee linebacker Derrick Graham said he almost committed to the Hogs during the visit. He said he had that thought after visiting Bielema's house on Friday. He was very impressed that Bielema would invite him to his home.

He said the coaches and the players showed a lot love. Arkansas has been his top school for awhile.

Fullback Tyler Colquitt hosted him on Friday and defensive end Anthony Brown showed him around after the game. They told him the coaches are genuine and care for the players. He said the players love the coaches.

His brother, P.J. and Derrick said the atmosphere at Arkansas is different from other schools. Graham said he has a great relationship with defensive coordinator Robb Smith and linebackers coach Randy Shannon.

Miss. St., Florida and Nebraska are expected to be his other official visits.

Graham, 6-4, 225, 4.56 seconds in the 40-yard dash, has more than 20 scholarship offers from schools that include Arkansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Nebraska and South Florida.

Fayetteville athlete Dre Greenlaw said he's been talking to Bielema and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. The Hogs are recruiting him for the Will linebacker spot. He has a legit chance of receiving an offer.
