Hogs hit recruiting milestone

— With the verbal commitment of Dumas tight end Will Gragg on Tuesday, Arkansas hit a milestone on the recruiting trail.

For the first time since the recruiting website Scout.com launched in 2002, the Razorbacks have verbal commitments from each of the top eight recruits in the state of Arkansas.

Gragg joined quarterback Ty Storey, tight end C.J. O'Grady, offensive tackle Colton Jackson, receivers K.J. Hill and Deon Stewart, and defensive ends Jamario Bell and Daytrieon Dean as in-state players committed to the Razorbacks. Gragg, Bell, Storey and Hill are all rated 4-star prospects by Scout.

A ninth in-state prospect, Nashville receiver LaMicahael Pettway, will reportedly commit to either Arkansas or Ole Miss

Verbal commitments are non-binding agreements. Storey has already signed a national letter of intent and will enroll at Arkansas in time for the spring 2015 semester. The other players are expected to sign letters of intent next February.

The last time Arkansas received this many commitments from in-state prospects was 2008. That class included eventual multi-year starters such as quarterback Tyler Wilson, running back Dennis Johnson, receivers Jarius Wright, Greg Childs and Joe Adams, and tight end Chris Gragg.

The Razorbacks' 2015 recruiting class now ranks 19th nationally, according to Scout.
