DALLAS — I visited two schools in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area on Wednesday and will visit several other Arkansas prospects the next two days.
The Hogs are recruiting Dallas Skyline High School hard and will get an official visit from athlete Kylan Johnson and possibly from two of his teammates.
Johnson, 6-2, 200, 4.54 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Dallas Skyline has about nine scholarship offers, including, Arkansas, UCLA, Wisconsin, Iowa State and Kansas State. He visited the Hogs on July 24. Video highlights CLICK HERE
He's being recruited as a safety by the Razorbacks. He said he and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings have been discussing an official in the next three to two weeks.
Johnson also plans to visit Kansas State and Wisconsin. He hopes to make his decision in the next month or two.
Linebacker Anthony Wheeler and defensive lineman Zach Abercrumbia are also considering official visits after talking to Johnson and Arkansas coaches.
Wheeler, 6-2, 220, 4.57 has more than 20 offers from schools like Arkansas, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan State and others. He has plans to visit the Sooners, Bears and Longhorns but is still considering the Hogs for one of the other two trips. Video highlights CLICK HERE
Abercrumbia, 6-3, 265, 4.9, is committed to Rice and also has offers from schools like Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, TCU and Texas Tech. He said he's looking hard at a visit to Fayetteville after talking to Jennings and defensive line coach Rory Segrest. Video highlights CLICK HERE
Athlete Montrel Wilson, 6-3, 195, 4.59 of Keller, Texas, Fossil Ridge has eight scholarship offers, but is only planning official visits to Arkansas, TCU and Baylor. He’s being recruited by running backs coach Joel Thomas. Video highlights CLICK HERE
He had planned to officially visit Arkansas for the Northern Illinois game, but things fell through. The Hogs are recruiting him as an outside linebacker.
