The Recruiting Guy

Dallas recruiting report Day III

Safety Kahlil Haughton.

— Safety Kahlil Haughton said he's still eyeing the Alabama game for an official visit to Arkansas.

Haughton, 6-2, 180, 4.44, of Waco (Texas) Midway has officially visited Oklahoma and Nebraska. He also plays to visit Baylor and Texas Tech.

He has approximately 20 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Duke.

He said he'll visit if the Alabama game is a night game. An earlier game time makes it tough for him to make the trip. His mother and father visited Oklahoma too. He made the trip to Lincoln solo.

Haughton said he'll visit Fayetteville by himself. The ten year contract to play Texas A&M in Arlington isn't a big factor for him.

The game day atmosphere and campus life are some of the things he wants to experience at Arkansas.

Always talks well of defensive backs coach Clay Jennings and did so today. Haughton's message to Hogs fans and Jennings. CLICK HERE

A couple of quotes from Midway Coach Terry Gambill.

"I've been coaching for 30 years and is one of the better safeties I’ve ever been around"

"He's what you would want in a son."

Gambill on Jennings.

"When he left TCU and to Arkansas, I knew that the University of Arkansas had done their homework from person standpoint. Coach Clay Jennings is an unbelievable person with high character, cares a lot about kids."

Dallas, Houston, Arkansas and Louisiana are some of the places the Arkansas coaches will be out recruiting during the bye week.

A tidbit overlooked by me from Thursday is defensive lineman Bryce English of DeSoto High School said his father, Lee wants him to take a visit to Arkansas and he plans to do that. His father is originally from Osceola.

I stated he was considering a visit to Arkansas.
