Why Texas A&M won

The Aggies won the battle up front in the fourth quarter and showcased its big-play offense. Texas A&M held Arkansas to no points after the third quarter and had touchdown plays of 86, 59 and 25 yards over the final 13 minutes of regulation and overtime.

Why Arkansas lost

It would be easy to point to the two costly penalties committed by Dan Skipper, but the Razorbacks' inability to move the ball and melt the clock in the fourth quarter was ultimately their downfall. Arkansas' biggest possession of the fourth quarter ended with a missed field goal by John Henson.

Offensive Player of the Game

Kenny Hill lived up to the hype when the game was on the line. After a rough first half, Hill passed for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns after halftime. He finished the game with 386 yards and 4 touchdowns, and was intercepted once. He also ran 6 times for 30 yards.

Defensive Player of the Game

Arkansas linebacker Martrell Spaight had 13 tackles, including a tackle for loss. Spaight also deflected a pass, though it was caught by a Texas A&M receiver.

Play of the Game

Trailing 28-14, Texas A&M hit an 86-yard pass from Hill to Edward Pope with 12:59 remaining. The play came after Arkansas had a 57-yard run to the Aggies 1 overturned because of a penalty.

Skipper penalties

Arkansas tackle Dan Skipper committed two costly penalties Saturday, overturning one touchdown and likely costing the Razorbacks another score.

A holding penalty against Skipper in the second quarter nullified a 34-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Allen to Hunter Henry that would have given the Razorbacks a 21-14 lead.

Skipper was flagged again for a tripping penalty in the fourth quarter to nullify a 57-yard run by Jonathan Williams to the Texas A&M 1. The Razorbacks led 28-14 at the time but didn't score again.

Streak Continues

Arkansas had won three straight games entering Saturday, but none came in conference play.

The Razorbacks' overtime loss to Texas A&M was their 14th straight in SEC play. After Kentucky beat Vanderbilt earlier Saturday, Arkansas' losing streak is now the longest current one in the league.

The last win for the Razorbacks over a SEC team came in Oct. 2012. Arkansas has lost 19 of its last 21 SEC games.

All of the Razorbacks' remaining SEC games this season are against teams currently ranked in the top 25.

Collins goes for 100 again

Arkansas running back Alex Collins eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the third time this season and seventh time in his career.

The sophomore rushed 21 times for 138 yards against the Aggies and scored on a 50-yard run in the second quarter. The touchdown run was Collins' sixth this season.

Collins has two runs of 50 yards or more this season. The Razorbacks have five runs of more than 50 yards after punter Sam Irwin-Hill rushed for a 51-yard score in the second quarter.
