Stacy Lewis and Austin Cook were in good shape to win their respective tournaments Sunday, but both faded down the stretch.

Playing in the ANA Inspiration, one of the LPGA's five majors, Lewis lost to Brittany Lincicome on the third playoff hole.

The former Arkansas star held a four stroke lead over Lincicome with five holes left, but a pair of bogies and three birdies left the door open for the eventual champion, who eagled the 18th hole to force the playoff.

Lewis missed potential match-winning birdie putts from 13, 15 and 12 feet on the final hole of regulation and first two extra holes, respectively.

In his second career PGA event, Cook bogeyed five of his last 10 holes - including the last three - and finished tied for 11th at the Houston Open.

Before that, he was 15 under through eight holes Sunday. Entering the event's final round, Cook was tied for second and only one shot behind the leader.
