Babb transfers to Iowa State

Arkansas guard Nick Babb drives against Georgia forward Marcus Thornton during a game Saturday, March 14, 2015, during the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

— Former Arkansas guard Nick Babb is transferring to Iowa State, he announced on Twitter Sunday.

He is the second member of his family to leave his original school to play for Fred Hoiberg, after his brother, Chris, joined Iowa State after two seasons at Penn State.

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said Babb's decision to leave the Razorbacks was based on playing time.

"Nick is a good kid and has done everything right in his time with our program," Anderson said in a statement April 2.

In his only season at Arkansas, Babb played in 26 games as a freshman, scoring 19 points and recording 20 rebounds. He was used minimally during the Razorbacks' conference season, but did score five points in a win over Georgia at the SEC Tournament last month.
