The Recruiting Guy

Pittman and O-line intrigues highly recruited prospect

Offensive lineman Scott Lashley.

Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman along with the line itself has highly regarded offensive lineman Scott Lashley interested in the Hogs.

“Just watching the offensive line, the biggest offensive line I think in football period, high school, college and NFL level,” Lashley said.

Lashley, 6-7, 305, 5.0 of West Point, Miss. has approximately 20 scholarship offers from schools Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and South Carolina. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Pittman’s ability to put linemen into the NFL is attractive.

“I feel like him coaching that many offensive linemen and things like that I feel like he must be doing something good,” Lashley said. “So I think that’s a good place for offensive linemen to go.”

Pittman told him of his offer last week.

“He said he wanted to go ahead and offer because ‘We were fired up about you down here’,” Lashley said. “It was exciting, but at the same time it was a little bit overwhelming.”

He’s looking to make a trip to Fayettevile.

“I’m planning to visit probably this summer,” he said.

Lashley hasn’t been shy about showing his interest in Arkansas on Twitter. He recently posted "University of Arkansas #OLINEHEAVEN” and "Arkansas just offered Dreams do come true #blessed #17.” on the social media site.

Any chance of a commitment to Arkansas after a good visit?

“I’m not sure right now,” Lashley said. “I have to take in the whole process.”

Lashley has a 3.0 grade point average and is leaning towards a particular major.

“Right now I’m real strong on physical therapy," he said.

When Lashley does visit Arkansas, he plans to bring his mother. He doesn't have a firm date for a decision.

“Once she goes to all of the colleges to see what they have to offer me as far as on the field and also off the field,” Lashley said. “Mainly off the field with academics.”
