O-lineman learned to call the Hogs early

Offensive lineman Boe Wilson.

Offensive lineman Boe Wilson started calling the Hogs at age three thanks to his father, Harry Wilson, who played for Arkansas in the late 90’s.

Wilson, 6-3, 290, 5.12 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Lee’s Summit, (Mo.) Lee’s Summit West has scholarship offers from Louisville, Purdue and others while drawing interest from several, including Arkansas. Video highlights CLICK HERE

His father played linebacker for the Razorbacks in 1997 and 1998.

Wilson and his parents attended Arkansas’ 14-13 loss to Alabama last season. It was his first time to attend a game since being in diapers.

“I didn’t get to use it until the Bama game,” Wilson said of the Hog Call. “The atmosphere during games is wild. I love it. It was great being back getting to call the Hogs again, It’s in my blood.”

Limbo Parks, who played offensive guard for the Razorbacks from 1985-1986 and was an All SWC selection, is the defensive line coach at his school. He was born in Fayetteville and has never forgotten about the Razorbacks.

“I was born and bred Arkansas Razorbacks,” said Wilson, whose parents met in Fayetteville. “My dad played there and thats where my interested started. I’ve pretty much followed Arkansas ever since.”

Wilson and his parents plan to attend Arkansas’ spring game on Saturday. He has excellent numbers in the weight room with a 370 pound bench press and 500 squat.

“I learned from the best, my dad is all about strength,” Wilson said.

He attended an Arkansas camp as a freshman and has plans to participate in a Razorback camp this summer. Wilson has been talking to offensive line coach Sam Pittman along with graduate assistant Eric Mateos.

“He just reassured me that they’re still interested in me,” said Wilson of Mateos. “He was talking about me potentially playing guard for them. He seems like a good coach.
