The Recruiting Guy

Red-White game must-see event for Louisiana WR

Junior receiver Isaiah Graham is an elusive playmaker the Hogs hope to sign.

Receiver Isaiah Graham of Bastrop (La.) High School has visited the Arkansas campus several times and will be in attendance for the spring game Saturday.

"That was a must that I make the spring game," Graham said. "Just to hang around with the players and the coaches for one thing. I've never really been able just to hang out and I finally get the opportunity."

Graham, 6-1, 175 pounds, 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash, received his first scholarship offer from Arkansas last September. He has added 16 offers since then, including Miami, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Nebraska and California.

No timeframe has been established by Graham to make a decision, but he didn't rule out a commitment if things go well on his trip.

"If I feel it I will, but it depends on how I feel," Graham said. "I'm not looking to, but then again, I'm not looking forward not to."

Graham, who had 684 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore, caught 48 passes for 1,138 yards and 20 touchdowns this past season. ESPN rates him a four-star recruit, the nation's No. 15 receiver and the No. 99 overall prospect.

He said the relationships he's formed with Arkansas' coaching staff has played a big part in his interest.

"I have a great relationship with the coaching staff, and then just being around the area and stuff," Graham said. "It's pretty out there. I really like being there and hanging out with the coaching staff."

Speed is one of Graham's biggest assets. He has been timed at 10.65 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.00 in the 200 this spring. He also runs a leg on the 400 relay.

There are numerous family members in the state who want him to be a Razorback, especially his two sisters, Stacie and Lacole, who live in Little Rock, along with his niece Brianna. Graham's father, Willie, is also from Arkansas.

"They're ready for me to get down there," Graham said. "They're excited."

EX-HOG ENCOURAGES OMOTOSHO

Receiver Audie Omotosho Plano East High School in Texas said he plans to visit Arkansas on Saturday for the Red-White game, and one former Razorback is glad he's making the trip.

Omotosho, 6-2, 190, 4.56, has 13 scholarship offers from schools that include Texas Tech, Washington, Iowa, Kansas and Boston College.

Greg Thomas, who played quarterback for the Hogs from 1984 to 1987, serves as a substance abuse specialist in the school's student and family service department and as an assistant basketball coach at the school.

"He tells me it's a great program," Omotosho said. "He played there back in the day. He's just really excited to know they're recruiting me and happy for me about it."

Omotosho had 31 receptions for 582 yards and 4 touchdowns as a junior. Omotosho, who has attended games at Oklahoma, TCU and SMU, visited Arkansas for the Alabama game in the fall.

"It was intense. That's probably one of the most live games I've been to," Omotosho said. "The facilities are amazing, and the coaches are cool. It's a great school."

New running backs coach Jemal Singleton is recruiting Omotosho, who said the Razorbacks will be in the mix if they extend him an offer.

"They would be really high on my list," said Omotosho, who has long jumped 22 feet, 3 inches, and tripled jumped 45-7 this spring. "They have all the things I need as far as education and a lot of opportunities on the field."

Omotosho said he plans to major in business management, and the Sam M. Walton College of Business at Arkansas has caught his attention.

"Since I was younger, I've always been interested in the business scheme of things and how everything works and functions," Omotosho said.

Omotosho finished 13th out of approximately 500 athletes at The Opening regional camp in Arlington, Texas, in the SPARQ ratings with a 105.72. He recorded times of 4.56 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 4.28 seconds in the pro-shuttle, and tossed the power ball 33.5 and had a 39.2-inch vertical jump.

Omotosho said he has plenty to offer a school.

"They're getting a well-rounded player as far as on and off the field," Omotosho said. "I'm coachable, disciplined and ready to get after it."
