UA women's golf, tennis selected for postseason

— The Arkansas women's golf and tennis teams were selected for postseason play this week.

Making its 13th straight postseason appearance, the women's golf team is headed to St. George, Utah, to participate in the NCAA Regional hosted by BYU.

Coming in at No. 8 in the Golfstat.com rankings, the Razorbacks are the second-highest ranked team in the regional, behind No. 1 Southern California.

No. 9 Virginia, No. 16 Stanford, No. 22 UNLV and No. 25 San Diego State are in the field, as well. SEC-foe and No. 17 Vanderbilt is also a top-25 team in the regional. The top six finishers at the regional advance to the NCAA Championships in Bradenton, Fla.

The women's tennis team will be making its first postseason appearance since 2011 and 13th in school history when it plays Arizona State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The match will be played in Stillwater, Okla., as Oklahoma State, the tournament's No. 12 overall seed, is hosting the regional. The winner of Arkansas-Arizona State will likely face the Cowboys, who face Boston University in their opener, in the second round.

The golf regional runs May 7-9, while the tennis team's opening match is May 9.
