Monday recruiting tidbits

Shooting guard DeAndre Hunter.

Arkansas impressed highly regarded guard-forward DeAndre Hunter during his visit to Fayetteville on Saturday.

He watched the camp on Saturday and was able to see the coaches in action and liked what he saw. He talked well of the facilities after taking a tour.

Hunter, 6-7, 195 of Philadelphia, (Pa.) Friend's Central School has more than 15 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Penn State, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, Temple, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Georgia Tech.

His spring and summer coach played for associate head coach Melvin Watkins at UNC-Charlotte. He was tight lipped if he would make a return trip for an official visit. He's rated the No. 22 small forward in the nation according to ESPN.

Looks like Arkansas will get an official visit from junior college guard Jaylen Barford, who has 20 plus offers.

Barford, 6-3 of Moltow State Community College in Tennessee said he has been talking to assistant coach T.J. Cleveland about a visit in September. He averaged 20.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists a game this past season.

Receiver Kofi Boateng, 6-1, 180, 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Arlington, (Texas) Lamar said he hasn't set a date yet but he might be making an official visit to Arkansas. He and his family visited the Hogs in June. He has more than 20 offers.

Arkansas linebacker commitment De'jon Harris, 6-1, 230 4.7 of Marrero, (La.) John Ehret said he and teammate and athlete Ca'Ron Baham, a Missouri commitment, plan to officially visit for the Auburn game on Oct. 24.

A top prospect has plans to take an official visit to Arkansas in the fall. I'm waiting to hear back from the recruit before saying the name.
