DeBriyn elected to SWC Hall of Fame

— Former Arkansas baseball coach Norm DeBriyn has been elected to the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame.

DeBriyn spent 33 seasons as coach of the Razorbacks, advancing to the College World Series four times and winning three conference championships. He holds the school record with 1,161 wins.

In 1979, DeBriyn led the Razorbacks to a national runner-up finish.

Since retiring as head coach in 2002, DeBriyn has worked as associate director of the Razorback Foundation. He is also a part-time scout for the Colorado Rockies.

DeBriyn will inducted into the hall of fame on Monday, Oct. 5 during a luncheon in Dallas. He is the 14th former Arkansas coach or player elected to the hall of fame.

The Southwest Conference Hall of Fame is located within the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas. It is also supported by the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in North Little Rock.
