Jenkins signs with Arkansas

Doobie Jenkins averaged 14.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a senior at Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy.

Arkansas has announced the signing of small forward Lorenzo Jenkins, who will play for the Hogs this season.

Jenkins, 6-5, 215 was the Florida Class 3A District 18 Player of the Year in 2014-15 after averaging 14.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals a game this past season. He finished his career with 1,270 points and 612 rebounds.

He was planning to attend prep school as a 2016 prospect until receiving an offer from the Razorbacks after assistant coach T.J. Cleveland saw him in action several weeks ago. Jenkins had scholarship offers from Chattanooga, The Citadel, Kennesaw State, Richmond, Tennessee Tech and Virginia Military.

He helped lead First Baptist Academy to three straight district championships and to the Class 3A Regional Final in 2015.
