After clearing the first four heights with no misses, Morris failed to clear 4.80 meters in three attempts. She was over the bar on her final attempt, but hit the bar on her fall.

Morris finished tied with 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jenn Suhr. Morris, 23, has finished second to Suhr, 33, at the last two U.S. national meets.

Morris has met the qualifying standard for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She won the NCAA indoor championship earlier this year at Arkansas and finished second outdoors.
