FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas center Moses Kingsley blocked a career-high eight shots to lead a 13-block night in the Razorbacks' 83-57 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
Kingsley, a 6-10 junior, also had 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
"Him being a rim protector, that's big," Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson said. "He not only blocked shots, he changed shots coming in there."
Kingsley's previous high in blocked shots had been five, which he last achieved in the season opener against Southern.
"Yeah, that was fun," Kingsley said. "I didn't know I had that many blocks. I thought I had maybe four or five."
Razorback big men Kingsley, Keaton Miles, Willy Kouassi and Trey Thompson combined for six blocked shots before the 10-minute mark of the first half. Kouassi and Thompson came off the bench to post two blocked shots each in that span, while Kingsley and Miles had one block each.
"You would think somebody in purple would realize not to dribble into a 6-10 athletic guy and throw it into his nose every time," Tennessee Tech Coach Steve Payne said. "He's a great athlete.
"They imposed their will on us. Certainly the blocked shots had an impact. We didn't score at the rim."
Dish network
Guard Jabril Durham had 10 assists to post his fourth game with at least 10 assists.
Durham dished out 10 against Southern and Northwestern State, and the 6-1 senior had a season-best 11 against Charleston Southern.
Bench binge
Arkansas reserves have outscored their counterparts 78-9 in the past two games. The Razorbacks' reserves outscored Tennessee Tech 38-7 margin Saturday on the heels of a 40-2 margin against Evansville in Arkansas' 89-76 victory Wednesday.
Marksman
Guard Dusty Hannahs had missed only one free throw in his past 53 attempts before he went 0 for 2 at the line with 14:08 left in the second half after a technical foul on Aleksa Jugovic.
"I guess he's human," Coach Mike Anderson said.
The 52 of 53 streak dated to his final eight games at Texas Tech during the 2013-14 season. Hannahs made 37 of his first 38 free throws as a Razorback and is 39 of 42 (.929).
The junior from Pulaski Academy had not missed more than one free throw in any game since going 1 for 3 in Texas Tech's season opener against Houston Baptist on Nov. 8, 2013.
Trey's back
Sophomore forward Trey Thompson made his first bucket since Nov. 20 a memorable one.
Thompson was running the left wing in transition midway through the first half when point guard Jabril Durham fed him a lofted pass that looked like a modified hook shot. Thompson caught the pass in motion and finished with a resounding dunk.
Thompson, who played just four minutes Wednesday after missing three games with a sprained ankle, posted career highs with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 7 rebounds.
"I felt like my legs were up under me, and I felt good," Thompson said.
Mike on the mike
Coach Mike Anderson wore a microphone for the game on his 56th birthday for a segment on the SEC Network.
One of the featured moments played on the broadcast came when Anderson said to an unidentified player: "You got too much finesse, son. You're an athlete. Be an athlete."
Throw down
Tennessee Tech entered the game ranked No. 5 in the country with 78.7 percent free-throw shooting, but the Golden Eagles struggled at 10 of 20.
"Heck, I know that they didn't hurry us at the free-throw line, but we were 10 of 20," Coach Steve Payne said. "That's how scattered we were tonight. We've been one of the best free-throw shooting teams in the country before tonight. I just think their pace and they play did that."
Tip-ins
• Sophomore guard Anton Beard sat out his ninth and final game while serving a suspension. Beard is eligible to return Saturday in North Little Rock against Mercer.
• Arkansas improved to 25-3 against teams from the Ohio Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles are 10-66 against SEC competition.
