In Sunday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, former Prosper, Texas Coach Kent Scott said Arkansas got a steal when receiver Zack English agreed to be a preferred walk-on.

“He has been a member of our leadership counsel team captain,” Scott said. “His biggest impact will probably be in the locker room.”

English, 5-9, 170, 4.51 seconds in the 40 yard dash, had 36 receptions for 402 yards and 3 touchdowns as a sophomore. Video highlights CLICK HERE

”He’s had a very positive impact on our football team since he was a sophomore,” Scott said. “He was our second leading receiver behind Torie Hunter Jr,. who’s at Notre Dame. Zack has been our leading receiver the last two years.”

He earned first team All-District 10-5A honors as a senior after having 60 receptions for 781 yards, 9 touchdowns along with 1,190 all-purpose yards and 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns.

As a junior, he had 46 catches for 540 yards and 8 touchdowns.

“We actually moved up in classification and he played a big part of us going three rounds deep,” said Scott of English’s sophomore season.
