FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas gymnast Paige Zaziski was named SEC co-freshman of the week on Tuesday following her performance in the Razorbacks’ tri-meet victory over Illinois State and Southeast Missouri State. Zaziski, of Chesterfield Township, Mich., has won SEC freshman of the week honors twice in six weeks, sharing it with Florida’s Kennedy Baker this week.
Zaziski scored 39.225 in the all-around, including a career-best 9.775 on the floor exercise at Barnhill Arena last Friday. She placed second in the all-around, vault (9.85) and uneven bars (9.8), and also scored 9.8 on the balance beam.
Zaziski is the second Arkansas gymnast to win two SEC freshman of the week awards in the same season, joining current Razorback assistant coach Jaime Pisani, who did it in 2009.
