Thursday recruiting tidbits

New Arkansas running backs coach Jemal Singleton spent the last four seasons at Oklahoma State.

Junior linebacker Dontavious Jackson, 6-3, 235, 4.67 of Houston, (Texas) Alief Elsik received an offer from Arkansas on Wednesday.

He learned of the offer from linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves and they talked about setting up a visit. He said he picked up more than 300 followers on Twitter after announcing his offer.

During the U.S. All American combine, he said two of his friends, running back Rakeem Boyd and offensive lineman Dixie Wooten III also want to make the trip.

Sophomore running back Eno Benjamin of Wiley, (Texas) Wiley East has dealt with Arkansas running backs coach Jemal Singleton and believes he's a good hire. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arizona running back commitment Trevor Speights, 5-10, 190, 4.38 of McAllen, (Texas) Memorial said he attended an Oklahoma State camp last summer and worked under Singleton. He said his father has been to the Arkansas campus and was very impressed.

Former Mississippi State running back commitment Tre Turner, 5-10, 193, 4.35 of New Orleans Holy Cross is also familiar with Singleton. He has numerous offers, including one from Arkansas. He has stated in the past his desire to visit Fayetteville. Video highlights CLICK HERE
