— Arkansas will host Texas State for a football game in 2016, according to a future schedule release Wednesday by the Bobcats.

Future Nonconference Games

2015 - Texas Tech, UTEP, Toledo, Tennessee-Martin

2016 - at TCU, Texas State, Louisiana Tech

2017 - TCU

2018 - at Michigan

2019 - Michigan

2021 - Texas

The game will be played on Sept. 17, 2016, in Fayetteville, according to the release. Texas State is a member of the Sun Belt Conference and is coached by Dennis Franchione, who formerly was head coach at TCU, Alabama and Texas A&M.

Texas State went 7-5 this season with a 5-3 record in conference games. The Razorbacks and Bobcats have never played a football game against each other.

With the announcement, three of Arkansas' four nonconference games for the 2016 season are known. The Razorbacks are under contract to travel to TCU for the start of a home-and-home series that season and to host Louisiana Tech.

The game against Louisiana Tech was originally scheduled to be played in Little Rock, but that agreement was made prior to Arkansas' decision to play one game annually at War Memorial Stadium. The Razorbacks' 2016 game in Little Rock has not been officially announced.
