Morris breaks NCAA pole vault record

— Arkansas senior pole vaulter Sandi Morris broke the NCAA indoor record in her event Friday.

In a dual meet between the Razorbacks and Texas, Morris cleared a height of 15-feet, 1 1/2 inches at Randal Tyson Track Center. Morris broke the record set last year by Texas pole vaulter Petrillose, who was in attendance Friday.

Morris broke the record in her third and final attempt Friday. She had unsuccessfully attempted to top the mark last week.

The No. 7 Razorbacks scored 96 points Friday to beat the No. 5 Longhorns, who finished with 72 points.

Arkansas' No. 3 men's team scored 94.5 points in the dual meet. The No. 8 Texas men scored 74.5 points.
