The Recruiting Guy

Sunday recruiting tidbits

Offensive lineman Toby Weathersby.

— Offensive tackle Toby Weathersby, 6-5, 290 pounds, 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Houston Westfield was hosted by Houston native and running back Denzel Evans.

Evans told him the Arkansas coaches are the same when you get on campus as they are during the recruiting process. Weathersby said that will play a major role with him because some schools will put on a show for you and are the opposite once you get on campus.

He will visit LSU next weekend and Houston the following weekend. He has ruled out Ole Miss. His high school coach Corby Meekins is now the Houston tight ends coach.

Weathersby spoke highly of offensive line coach Sam Pittman and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings. He'll announce his decision on signing day.

Cornerback Nate Dalton of Houston Cypress Falls was hosted by cornerback Henre Toliver. He said they were a mirror of each other since both are from Louisiana. Dalton is a Louisiana native. He said the visit helped Arkansas' chances.

Very impressed with the Razorback fan base. He liked the honesty of coach Bret Bielema and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings. He also liked the relationship Jennings has with the defensive backs.

Dalton, 6-3, 195, 4.50, has about 10 scholarship offers from schools that include Arkansas, Oklahoma, Utah and Kentucky. He already has taken official visits to Oklahoma, Kentucky and Liberty. Michigan contacted him during the visit and convinced him to visit Ann Arbor next weekend. He said he'll have a decision shortly after that visit.

Prior to his Arkansas trip, linebacker Rayshad Jackson, 6-1, 215, 4.58, of Miami Norland was quoted as saying he was 80% sure he would commit to Florida on his visit to Gainesville, but now said it's 50-50 between the Hogs and Gators.

Miami native and linebacker Josh Williams was his host. He also hung out with receiver Kendrick Edwards, who attended Miami Norland. Edwards tweeted that his high school teammate will soon be an Arkansas teammate. To that, Jackson said there's a chance.

Jackson said moving out-of-state is appealing. His parents want him to come to Arkansas.

Vanderbilt defensive end commitment T.J. Smith of Moultrie, Ga. Colquitt visited the Commodores over the weekend. He said he's still on to visit the Hogs this week.

Arkansas linebacker commitment Derrick Graham did meet with Florida linebackers coach Randy Shannon on Saturday, but nothing has changed. He's still 100% committed to the Hogs.
