Recruiting Thursday interviews

Running back Devwah Whaley is a major target for the Razorbacks in the 2016 class.

Two Arkansas commitments, cornerback Nate Dalton and defensive end T.J. Smith and two prospects were on last night's loaded Recruiting Thursday.

Dalton, 6-3, 195, 4.50 of Houston Cypress Falls revisited last weekend's trip to Fayetteville and told why he chose to be a Razorback. He picked the Hogs over Oklahoma, Michigan, Kentucky and several others. Defensive backs coach Clay Jennings was his lead recruiter.

Athlete Arico Evans, 6-2, 190, 4.50 of Dallas Hillcrest is committed to Kansas, but will make an official visit to Arkansas on Jan. 30. He has officially visited Texas Tech and will visit TCU this weekend. At this time, he doesn't have an offer from the Hogs, but is a strong candidate to receive one. Running backs coach Joel Thomas is his lead recruiter.

Defensive end T.J. Smith, 6-3, 260, 4.89 of Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County recorded his interview before arriving in Fayetteville and him flipping his commitment from Vanderbilt to the Hogs. He also had offers from North Carolina, Wake Forest, Central Florida and others. Defensive line coach Rory Segrest and running backs coach Joel Thomas recruited Smith.

Major 2016 target Devwah Whaley, 5-11, 196 pounds, 4.45 of Beaumont,Central high school in Texas has scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, TCU and Ole Miss. ESPN rates Whaley the No. 5 running back and the No. 110 overall prospect in the nation in the 2016 class. Running backs coach Joel Thomas and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings are recruiting Whaley.
