Smith hosts Razorback coaches

NWA Media/ANDY SHUPE - Arkansas coach Bret Bielema speaks to members of the media Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, during a press conference ahead of the Razorbacks' Dec. 29 bowl game with Texas in Houston.

Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema, defensive coordinator Robb Smith and defensive line coach Rory Segrest made an in-home visit with defensive end commitment T.J. Smith Tuesday night.

“We got to sit down and talk and fellowship and ate some good food,” said Smith of the hour and half visit. “We took a few pictures and they left.”

Smith, 6-3, 260 pounds, 4.89 in the 40-yard dash, of Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt Count made an official visit wit his mother to Fayetteville last week and announced his commitment on Twitter during the trip. Video highlights CLICK HERE

He’s anxious to sign with the Hogs on Feb. 4, national signing day.

“We went over the signing day papers and how things would go and they gave me a few papers to fill out for when they release the information on me,” Smith said.

He recorded 48 tackles, 4 sacks, 17 quarterback hurries and 1 forced fumble as a senior.

Smith chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from North Carolina, Missouri, Wake Forest, Central Florida and others. He said the Razorback coaches talked about several topics.

“They know I’m a hundred percent and I know they’re a hundred percent,” Smith said.

He said the visit wasn’t needed to convince him about his decision to be a Hog.

“I didn't need reconfirmation,” said Smith, who was recruited by Segrest and running backs coach Joel Thomas. “I know, I know.”
