Kansas lineman hopes to be a Hog

Offensive lineman Tom Killilea.

Offensive lineman Tom Killilea drove from Kansas to take part in Arkansas’ Advance Camp on June 20 and he would love the opportunity to come back as a Razorback.

“I love it, this is my number one far and away,” Killilea said.“An offer is the only thing missing for me right now. I love everything, the school I love it. Everything about it it’s very high on my list. I like Coach (Bret) Bielema a lot. I liked him at Wisconsin.”

Graduate assistant Eric Mateos has been communicating with him. The camp allowed him to work with Mateos and offensive line coach Sam Pittman.

“I really liked coach Pittman,” Killilea said. “I knew coach Mateos coming in, I’m a big fan of his too. I learned a lot. My team runs the flex-bone so everything pass pro is somewhat foreign in to me most of the time. So I learned a lot there.”

Killilea, 6-6, 275 of Overland Park St. Thomas Aquinas has 9 scholarship offers, including New Mexico, Southeastern Missouri State, South Dakota State, Cornell and South Dakota. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Because he plays in a run oriented offense, Killilea was able to polish up other parts of his game while working with Pittman.

“He told me to keep my hands up, referring to my pass pro,” Killilea said. “I have a tendency to drop my hands during that and that’s not going to help me at all.”

His main focus this summer is gaining strength.

“My maxes aren’t where they need to be so I need to work on that a lot and have a good senior hopefully enough for the Hogs,” Killilea said.
