Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel will pitch for the American League at the MLB All-Star Game next Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Keuchel leads the AL in wins (11) innings pitched (130 1/3), complete games (3) and shutouts (2) this season. He has a 2.14 ERA.

He could become the second former Arkansas pitcher selected to start the All-Star Game. Cliff Lee was the AL starter in 2008 and went on to win the league's Cy Young Award.

Keuchel was a seventh-round draft pick of the Astros in 2009 after pitching three seasons for the Razorbacks. He has been one of MLB's most effective starting pitchers the last two seasons with 23 wins, a 2.62 ERA and Gold Glove Award.

He has pitched at least six innings in 29 consecutive starts, which is the longest active streak in the majors.
