Day III-The Opening tidbits

— The Opening will conclude today with the 7-on-7 championship and the linemen 1-on-1 finals. The event should wrap up around 7:30 PM central time.

A few recruiting tidbits from Thursday includes two father of two major Arkansas prospects bing very impressed with Arkansas after visits earlier in the summer.

Henry Smith, the father of highly regarded junior offensive lineman Trey Smith of Jackson, Tenn. said the June 20 visit to Fayetteville was focused more about life than football. His wife passed away in February and Coach Bret Bielema's heartfelt sympathy impressed him and his son. Bielema talked about losing his sister at a young age and offered up advice about how to deal was the loss.

Eric Cuffee Sr. said he was blown away by the Arkansas fan base after visiting Fayetteville in June with his son. He also liked the family atmosphere at Arkansas. He liked how Bielema and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings cared about the players. Cornerback Eric Cuffee Jr. announced his top 11 Wednesday night and included the Hogs.

Linebacker Dontavious Jackson said he still might visit Arkansas, but it doesn't sound too promising.

Running back Elijah Holyfield said he's no longer considering Arkansas.

Defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence II, 6-4, 330 of Wake Forest, North Carolina said he told his mother he should visit the Hogs. He communicates with Arkansas on Twitter and said they mentioned July 22 as a possible date for a visit.

His father is from Pine Bluff and played at UAPB and still has family in the state. His family in Arkansas is urging him to check out the Razorbacks. He has also told McTelvin Agim of his desire to visit.

He ran a 5.08 time in the 40 and had a 4.81 pro-shuttle time along with a 43 foot power ball toss and 22 inch vertical for a SPARQ rating of 97.44. ESPN rates him the No. 6 defensive tackle and No. 17 overall prospect in the nation.

Defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence, 6-2, 309 of Monroe, (La.) Neville said he's communicating with defensive line coach Rory Segrest and receivers coach Michael Smith. He said he plans to visit for a game this fall.

ESPN rates him the No. 3 defensive tackle and No. 6 overall prospect in the nation.

Running back Devin White of Springhill, (La.) North Webster has announced a top ten of Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami, LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia and UCLA.
