The Recruiting Guy

Opening standout looking to visit Hogs

Offensive lineman Jack Anderson.

— Junior center Jack Anderson is hoping to make his way to Arkansas if his cart services job at a golf course will allow.

“I work a lot of weekends, so dad said he can take me down whenever, but I just need to find time with my schedule to get down there,” said Anderson, who’s competing at The Opening.

Anderson, 6-4, 285 pounds of Frisco, Texas has 41 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Texas, Stanford, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska and LSU. Video highlights CLICK HERE

In early June, he named the Hogs one of his top 10 schools and that remains the same at The Opening. He was seen hanging out with junior offensive lineman Trey Smith, who visited the Hogs on June 20.

“He said the fans were really cool and he liked the facilities, but we haven’t talked a whole lot,” Anderson said.

For now, he plans to visit Texas A&M on July 27.

“That’s all I’m looking at right now,” Anderson said.

Anderson will focus on two things when picking a school.

“A coaching staff that makes me feel at home, facilities and the college atmosphere,” Anderson said.

The trend in college football is for current commitments of a school to recruit other top prospects. Anderson said that could help him in looking at a school.

“For sure, if I’m getting recruited by not only coaches, but players that are committed there then it means a lot,” Anderson said. “That’s important to me.”
