— Arkansas' assistant coaching salary pool increased 9.7 percent since last season.

The Razorbacks' nine on-field assistants will make a combined $3.515 million this season. According to a USA Today database updated last December, that total would rank as the 10th-highest in college football and fourth-highest in the SEC.

2014: $3,205,000

2013: $3,225,000

2012: $2,603,220

The cumulative total is up $310,000 from last season and more than double the amount Houston Nutt's final assistant coaching staff made eight years ago. Coaches salaries are made public under Arkansas' Freedom of Information Act.

Of the Razorbacks' seven returning assistant coaches, six received pay raises during the off-season. Wide receivers coach Michael Smith will earn the same salary as last year.

Offensive coordinator Dan Enos was hired at the same salary as his predecessor, Jim Chaney. Linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves' salary is $125,000 less than his predecessor, Randy Shannon, who also held the title of associate head coach.

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema received a salary increase during the off-season and will make $4 million before incentives this year.

The Razorbacks have increased their assistant coach salary pool five times and head coach's pay three times since 2010.

All coaching salaries are more than the state's suggested line item salary maximum for their position. The difference is paid by the athletic department's fundraising arm, The Razorback Foundation.
