Florida safety commits to Arkansas

Deon Edwards

Clermont (Fla.) Lake Minneola safety Deon Edwards has committed to Arkansas.

Edwards, 6-1, 195 pounds, picked Arkansas over about 12 scholarship offers from schools like South Carolina, Missouri, Louisville, North Carolina State and South Florida. Defensive coordinator Robb Smith is his lead recruiter.

Lake Minneola defensive coordinator McKinley Rolle said Edwards is a hard worker.

“A no-nonsense kid,” Rolle said. “He does everything that you ask of him 100 percent. He is very coachable. He is willing to be coached and everything he does, he does at 100 percent, full speed.

He recorded 112 tackles, 8 interceptions, 2 sacks and a forced fumble over the past two seasons.

Edwards is Arkansas' 12th commitment for the 2016 class. Video highlights CLICK HERE
