Enos back in Michigan recruiting for Hogs

Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen works with offensive coordinator Dan Enos during practice Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

Arkansas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos is recruiting his home state of Michigan in hopes of luring some prospects to Fayetteville for the 2016 class.

“We’re going to go in there and see if we can’t find a player or two,” said Enos, who played quarterback for Michigan State from 1987-1990. “I think with the way the recruiting landscape is now, you can go anywhere. I have good relationships with high school coaches in that area. I’ve recruited that area for a long time.”

The Hogs have offered sophomore defensive back Ambry Thomas of Detroit King and offensive lineman Cameron Kolwich of St. Mary’s in Orchard Lake during the spring evaluation period.

Arkansas is showing strong interest in linebacker Jalen Cochran of Canton and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson of Detroit Renaissance. Cochran and Jackson hope to visit Fayetteville this summer.

Enos, who also recruits St. Louis and Chicago along with all quarterback prospects, said being in the SEC is a plus.

“One thing I know, when I talk to some of the young men, they understand what league we’re in,” Enos said. “They understand it’s the best league in college football and they would be playing against the best people in the country and obviously our facilities are second to none.”
