Dallas Keuchel's dominance dropped off in May, but it was still good enough to earn American League Pitcher of the Month honors.

The former Arkansas pitcher went 4-1 with a 2.62 ERA and two complete games in May, improving his season record to 7-1, but raising his ERA to 1.76.

He is the first pitcher to earn the award in back-to-back months since Clayton Kershaw in June and July of last year and the first American League pitcher to do so since Johan Santana won it three straight months with the Minnesota Twins in 2004.

Keuchel won the April award after starting the year 3-0 with a 0.73 ERA in five starts.

Of his 11 starts this season, eight have been quality starts (pitching at least six innings while giving up three runs or less).
