He first met with defensive backs coach Clay Jennings shortly after the camp ended.

“He showed me some clips of the LSU game and he wanted me to explain it back to him,” said Thomas, whose lead recruiter is tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr “He was pretty impressed how football smart I am, my football IQ. We pretty much talked about how they would use me.”

Defensively, Thomas recorded 59 tackles, 5 interceptions with 1 returned for a touchdown along with 14 pass breakups, 1 recovered fumble for a touchdown as a junior. He had 18 touches on offense and scored 7 touchdowns while also returning 4 kickoffs for touchdowns.

Receivers coach Michael Smith also quizzed Thomas and spoke well of him as a person.

“He said he liked how liked me as a person and my personality and my football smarts and my athletic ability,” Thomas said.

His final meeting was with Coach Bret Bielema.

“Coach Bielema said he loved me to come up here play cornerback for Arkansas,” Thomas said. “He said once they check out my transcript and the grades I made this past semester and evaluate that, then they’re going to offer me a scholarship.

Thomas gave an update on where he stood with the recruiting process.

“Right now my top school is still Louisiana Tech and behind them is probably Mississippi State,” Thomas said. “But out of the schools that haven’t offered and I know will offer, it will be Arkansas, Oklahoma State and TCU.”
