Arkansas finished 16th nationally in the final standings for the Sports Directors’ Cup, a competition which ranks athletic departments based on the performance of all sports during the school year.

It’s the highest finish for Arkansas since the Directors’ Cup rankings began for the 1993-1994 school year. The Razorbacks scored 912.5 points.

Their previous high was 830 during the 2012-13 school year.

Arkansas scored points in 15 of its 19 sports and was the only school to win a bowl game, play in the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments and in an NCAA baseball regional.

Arkansas women’s track and field team earned 180 points — 100 for winning an NCAA indoor title and 80 for taking fourth outdoors. The men’s track and field team earned 170 points by taking third at the NCAA indoor and outdoor meets.

The baseball team earned 73 points by advancing to the College World Series and the women’s golf team picked up 69 points for a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The football team earned 45 points with its 31-7 Texas Bowl victory over Texas, and the men’s and women’s basketball teams each earned 25 points by winning their first-round NCAA Tournament games.

Arkansas has finished in the top 30 in the Directors’ Cup standings seven of the past eight years.
