Shittu receives LSU offer

S.K. Shittu with Providence Academy works his way to the basket against Muldrow on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, in Rogers.

Sophomore forward S.K. Shittu of Rogers Providence Christian Academy has received his second offer from LSU. Tulsa was first to offer.

Shittu , 6-9, 193 pounds, showed outstanding athleticism and work ethic at Arkansas’ camp in August. His ability to get up and down the court is much like a guard. The Hogs are showing strong interest.

The Tigers extended an offer after viewing Shittu's highlight video for a short period, according to Coach Austin Bivins.

Shittu arrived in Arkansas from Nigeria in October of 2013. He averaged 7.8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks a game as a freshman and is averaging about 12.3 points, 13.6 rebounds and 3.8 block shots while shooting 52 precent from the field this season.

He plans to play for the Northwest Arkansas Hawks 17-under coached by former Razorback Brad Freiss during the spring and summer.
