Nike Football The Opening Regional tidbits

Defensive tackle Kendell Jones weighs 364 and stands 6-5.

— Little Rock Christian junior running back Damarea Crockett bettered his 124.62 SPARQ rating that he posted on Saturday by scoring a 128.22 at today's Nike Football The Opening Regional held at Arlington Lamar High School.

He ran a electronic time of 4.69 in the 40 yard dash and had a 4.00 pro-shuttle, 38.7 vertical and threw the power ball 39 feet. The 128.22 is the best score in the nation.

Highly recruited junior safety Brandon Jones of Nacogdoches, Texas said he's talking to defensive backs coach Clay Jennings and is planning to visit Fayetteville in March or April.

Jones, who has 37 offers, said Jennings is upfront with him and doesn't tell him what you want to hear like some coaches do. He said Jennings has given him several tips and he's used them to get better.

Highly sought-after junor defensive lineman Kendell Jones of Killeen, (Texas) Shoemaker is probably the largest linemen I've ever seen. He's 6-5, and weighs 364 pounds and looks like one big muscle. He bench presses 420 pounds. He received an invite to The Opening after today's showing.

He and his father are hoping to visit the Hogs this summer.

Jeremy Crabtree of ESPN said Hope defensive end McTelvin Agim won one rep against highly regarded offensive lineman Greg Little and lost a rep against him.

Highly regarded junior offensive lineman Chris Owens of Arlington, (Texas) Lamar measured 6-3 and weighed in at 312 pounds. He smiled when talking about Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and offensive line coach Sam Pittman. He enjoys talking to both and respects their ability to get offensive linemen into the NFL. He said he hopes to visit.

Arkansas running back target Devin White measured 6-1 and weighed 255 pounds. He scored a 122.19 SPARQ rating with a 4.57 time in the 40, 34 inch vertical, 4.36 pro-shuttle and 39 feet in the power ball. He received an invite to The Opening.

Fort Smith Northside junior cornerback Kiondre Thomas scored a 95.76 SPARQ rating after running a 4.46 laser in 40 along with a 4.27 pro-shuttle, 35.6 vertical and 31 power ball toss.

Fort Smith Northside junior linebacker Deontre Hardwick measured 6-0 and weighed 244 today. He scored a 87.69 SPARQ rating with a 4.89 laser time in the 40, 30 inch vertical, 4.39 pro-shuttle and 34 power ball toss.

Defensive end Xavier Kelly of Wichita, (Kan.) East said he's talking to several Arkansas coaches and is considering a visit to Fayetteville in the spring. He measured 6-5 and weighed in at 230. He scored a 98.73 SPARQ rating by running a 4.55 time in the 40 and having 30.9 vertical, 4.47 pro-shuttle and a 36 feet in the power ball.

Bryant junior defensive lineman Cameron Murray scored a 103.50 SPARQ rating today. He had a 94.77 at the Dallas Combine on Saturday with a 5.17 time in the 40, 27.3 vertical, 4.63 shuttle and a 45.5 power ball toss.

At today's event, he had a 5.10 in the 40, 27.1 vertical, 4.35 pro-shuttle and a 41 in the power ball.

Junior linebacker Jeffery McCulloch of Houston Aldine Davis said he's been playing basketball, but now the season is over he plans to focus more on recruiting and Arkansas is one of the schools he plans to talk to.

He plays the point and shooting guard spot along with both forward positions in basketball.

He has more than 30 offers, including Arkansas. He wants to visit the SEC schools that's offered him before the start of the season. He received an invite to The Opening.

Junior defensive end Isaiah Chambers of Houston, (Texas) Aldine MacArthur said he's talked to entire coaching staff at Arkansas over the last three days and they're trying to get him up for a visit. He said he's not sure if he'll be able to but, he wants to keep talking to the coaches.

Junior linebacker Michael Divinity, 6-2, 215, 4.7 of Marrero, (La.) John Ehret said he has a great relationship with receiver coach Michael Smith. He said Smith is straight up with him and doesn't sugarcoat things. He plans to make a visit at some point.

Junior running back Rakeem Boyd of Houston Stratford said he's talking to defensive backs coach Clay Jennings. He has 15 offers now, but is hoping for one from the Hogs because he likes Arkansas' offensive style.

Other Arkansas recruits who received invites to The Opening are linebacker Dontavious Jackson, cornerback Eric Cuffee of Waco, cornerback Jared Mayden of Sachse, Texas and rceiver Devin Duvarney of Sachse, Texas.
