Jimmy Dykes coaches Arkansas during the game against LSU at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.

— Arkansas' first NCAA Tournament game since 2012 will be against Northwestern.

The Razorbacks will play the Wildcats on Friday in Waco, Texas. The winner of the game will play the winner of the Baylor-Northwestern State game.

Arkansas (17-13) is the No. 10 seed in the Oklahoma City Region.

Northwestern is 23-8 and went 12-6 in the Big Ten, finishing in a tie for fourth in the conference. Its last game was a 74-63 loss in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.

Before losing two of their last three games, the Wildcats won eight straight games, including a pair of overtime games. Both losses were to Maryland, which went 18-0 in conference play.

It is Northwestern's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1997.

The Razorbacks and Wildcats played two common opponents - Iowa and Rutgers - during the season. Arkansas beat Iowa 77-67, but lost to Rutgers 64-52. Northwestern was swept by the Hawkeyes (83-70 and 102-99), but won both of its match ups with the Scarlet Knights (80-60 and 62-57).

Arkansas and Northwestern played a home-and-home series in 2008 and 2009, with both teams winning on their home courts (2008: 60-44 in Fayetteville; 2009: 67-55 in Chicago).

The Razorbacks won the only other game between the schools, a 105-68 blowout in the 1991 NCAA Tournament.

Jimmy Dykes will coach in the NCAA Tournament in his first season as a collegiate head coach.
