Edwards no longer with Razorbacks

Arkansas receiver Kendrick Edwards (87) carries the ball as Nicholls defensive back Josh Singleton (21) during the fourth quarter Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville

— Wide receiver Kendrick Edwards has been removed from Arkansas' football team and has been given permission to contact other schools about transferring.

Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema said Wednesday the reason for Edwards' dismissal was because of off-field issues and not related to playing ability.

Edwards played sparingly as a freshman in 2014, catching four passes for 70 yards and one touchdown. He was not listed on the Razorbacks' two-deep depth chart at the beginning of spring practices.

"Until they are committed to being in our program the right way, they're not going to appear in our two-deep," Bielema said last week when asked specifically about Edwards and receiver JoJo Robinson.

Bielema said Wednesday that Robinson is still on the Razorbacks' team.
