Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Junior quarterback Skylar Thompson.

Quarterback Skylar Thompson will arrive in Fayetteville on Friday for his Saturday visit to Arkansas.

Thompson, 6-2, 192 pounds, 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Independence (Mo.) Fort Osage High School has offers from Kansas, Illinois State, Ohio and North Dakota State. He'll visit Wake Forest on Thursday and has a very good chance of receiving an offer from the Demon Deacons.

As a sophomore, Thompson completed 106 of 186 passes for 1,451 yards and 19 touchdowns and rushed for 705 yards and 10 touchdowns. He completed 158 of 244 passes for 2,385 yards and 24 touchdowns with 6 interceptions this past season and helped Fort Osage to a 11-1 record. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Linebacker Sidney Murray, 6-2, 236 of Rosenberg, (Texas) B. F. Terry plans to visit Arkansas for the spring game on April 25. He said he's talking to running backs coach Jemal Singleton and Special teams quality control coach Tanner Burns. He's also talked to linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves.

Bryant defensive lineman Cameron Murray said Houston is starting to show strong interest. He has offers from Arkansas State, North Texas and La. Tech. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson and associate head coach Melvin Watkins spent two hours at Rogers Providence Christian Academy on Monday to check on 2017 forward S.K. Shittu, who has offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Tulsa and others.

He'll play for the Arkansas Hawks in Real Deal in the Rock tourney this weekend.

Prairie Grove tight end Dylan Soehner is drawing new interest from Mississippi State and has been invited to their summer camps.

Incoming freshman tight end Austin Cantrell of Roland, Okla. threw the shot put 55-6 for first place in his first meet of the spring. He anchored the winning 4x100 with a time of 43.08.

Holmes Community College shooting guard Daryl Macon, who played at Little Rock Parkview, has been named 1st team junior college All American as a freshman. Arkansas is showing strong interest.
