FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas freshman Keaton McKinney is the SEC pitcher of the week.
McKinney threw a complete game, two-hitter Saturday in the Razorbacks' 4-0 win at Alabama. McKinney became the first Arkansas pitcher to throw a shutout since Brett Eibner in 2009.
The right-hander is the first Razorbacks pitcher to earn the award this season. In 15 appearances, McKinney has a 3.06 ERA this season in 64 2/3 innings.
McKinney's performance helped Arkansas sweep Alabama. The Razorbacks have won 18 of their last 24 games and are ranked No. 20 in this week's Baseball America poll.
