Two UA golfers face felony charge

Taylor Moore and Nicolas Echavarria were arrested Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas could be without two of its top golfers for an NCAA regional appearance.

Junior golfers Taylor Moore and Nicolas Echavarria were suspended indefinitely from the team after being arrested and charged Wednesday with video voyeurism.

According to a Fayetteville Police Department report, Moore, 21, and Echavarria, 20, told police they took sexually explicit cell phone photos of a female while she was drunk and passed out at Moore's house.

There also was a photo of the victim's private areas police found on Echavarria's phone, which police obtained with a search warrant.

The Razorbacks, who finished sixth at the SEC Tournament, open play in the NCAA Yale Regional next Thursday in New Haven, Conn.

Arkansas' athletic department issued a statement saying it is aware of a pending legal issue involving two men's golfers and that they have been suspended indefinitely from the golf program. Arkansas officials declined further comment.

Moore, a junior from Edmond, Oklahoma, is the Razorbacks' top golfer with 71.8 per round average in 10 tournaments this season. Echavarria, a junior from Medellin, Colombia, is their fourth-ranked golfer with a 73.8 average.
