Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas is expected to host center Willy Kouassi for an official visit.

Kouassi, 6-101/2, 233 has been granted a release from Kennesaw State and will play his senior year elsewhere. He plans to visit Fayetteville June 5-7.

His guardian, Darien Knox said Kouassi believes he would be a good fit in Arkansas' style of play and would allow him to flourish defensively.

He'll officially visit Western Kentucky this weekend. He will visit Memphis after the Arkansas trip and wrap up his visits to Ole Miss. He's already taken a trip to North Texas.

Kouassi and Razorback forward JaCorey Williams were teammates at Central Park Christian in Birmingham.

Tight end Jacob Mathis, 6-5, 227, 4.62 of Tampa, (Fla.) Berkeley Prep said he's talking to Coach Bret Bielema and defensive coordinator Robb Smith on a consistent basis. He watched some Arkansas games in the fall and liked how the tight ends were used.

Mathis, who has more than 30 offers, also likes Bielema's track record of sending tight ends into the NFL. He said he'll probably visit Fayetteville this summer. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Texas is the latest school to show interest in Little Rock Christian running back Damarea Crockett, who has offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Arkansas State and others.

Running back D'Vaughn Pennamon, 5-11, 200, 4.46 of Manvel, Texas said Arkansas and Houston are his top schools and is looking to make a decision soon.

He said running backs coach Jemal Singleton will visit his school today. He now has 25 offers. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Defensive lineman Michael Williams, 6-2 1/2, 300, 4.95 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Fort Worth, (Texas) All Saints Episcopal said he's working on setting up a visit to Arkansas this summer. He reports more than 40 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Baylor and others. Video highlights CLICK HERE
