TE Henry has wait for score

Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry catches a touchdown pass during the third quarter of a game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas junior tight end Hunter Henry had twice as many touchdown catches in the third quarter Saturday night against Mississippi State as he had in the first 10 games this season.

Henry, considered a probable high draft choice if he decides to leave for the NFL after this season, had 37 catches for 490 yards on the season coming into the Mississippi State game, but only one of those had been for a touchdown.

His only touchdown pass had been against Texas Tech Sept. 19 before Brandon Allen connected with Henry twice in the end zone in the third quarter for scoring plays of 39 and 18 yards.

Three for Sprinkle

Jeremy Sprinkle had a career-high three touchdown catches for the Hogs on Saturday. The junior tight end had three career touchdowns coming into the game with two this season and one his freshman year.

One pass, two records

Arkansas senior quarterback Brandon Allen tied two school records with his 18-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Henry with 6:56 left in the third quarter.

Allen tied his own school record for touchdown passes in a game with six and tied Ryan Mallett's career record with 62.

Allen also had six touchdown passes Razorbacks' 53-52 victory in overtime this season.

Allen is the only Razorback ever to throw six touchdown passes in regulation.

Not half bad

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott had 308 passing yards in the first half.

That was more passing yards than Prescott had in seven other games this season.

Cold game

Temperature at kickoff Saturday night was 37 degrees. It had fallen to 27 degrees by the third quarter.

It was the coldest home game for Arkansas since the Razorbacks' 17-0 victory over LSU last season, when it was 33 degrees at kickoff for the Nov. 15 game.

Prior to the LSU game last season, Arkansas' coldest home game was Nov. 11, 1995, when it was 31 degrees for an afternoon kickoff against Southwestern Louisiana.

The Razorbacks beat the Ragin' Cajuns 24-13.

Saturday night marked the coldest game for Mississippi State in two years. When the Bulldogs beat Ole Miss 17-10 Nov. 28, 2013, in Starkville, temperatures were in the 30s during the game.

Nice response

Arkansas cornerback Kevin Richardson atoned for dropping a Dak Prescott pass in the first half against Mississippi State Saturday night that should have been an interception.

Richardson made a diving interception to give Arkansas possession at the Mississippi State 39 in the third quarter.

On the next play, Brandon Allen hit Hunter Henry for a touchdown pass and Cole Hedlund added the extra point for a 35-31 Arkansas lead.

Richardson's interception was a much tougher play than the pass he couldn't hang onto in the second quarter, which hit him right in the hands.

Mississippi State then drove for a field goal to take a 17-14 lead.

Flag bearers

Junior offensive tackle Dan Skipper carried the United States flag and freshman linebacker Dre Greenlaw carried the Arkansas flag when the Razorbacks ran onto the field.

For starters

Arkansas sophomore defensive end Tevin Beanum was back in the starting lineup against Mississippi State, a week after junior JaMichael Winston started in his place at LSU.

It was the sixth start this season for Beanum while Winston has five starts.

Sophomore Kevin Richardson started at cornerback for the Razorbacks after starting at strongside linebacker at LSU.

Arkansas used five defensive backs with cornerbacks Henre Toliver and Jared Collins also starting along with safeties Rohan Gaines and Josh Liddell.

On offense the Razorbacks came out in a three-receiver set with Drew Morgan, Dominique Reed and Jared Cornelius starting.

Welcome back Dallas

Former Razorback pitcher Dallas Keuchel, won the American League Cy Young Award this season with the Houston Astros, was honored on the field during a timeout in the first half.

Keuchel, who came to Arkansas from Tulsa, went 20-8 this season with a 2.48 earned average to help Houston make the playoffs.

The Astros picked Keuchel in the seventh round of the 2011 draft after his junior season at Arkansas.
